The regions
Churchill’s wildlife seasons are short and its lodges and tundra vehicles fill early, so planning ahead matters. We reserve the expeditions, flights and guides, and add time in Winnipeg or the lake country before or after.
The provincial capital, home to the Canadian Museum for Human Rights, The Forks and the historic Exchange District.
A remote town on Hudson Bay known for polar bears in autumn and thousands of beluga whales in summer.
Granite shores, waterfalls and hundreds of lakes along the Canadian Shield, about two hours east of Winnipeg.
Wide open farmland that turns yellow with canola in summer, with big skies and small prairie towns.
Winnipeg’s French quarter, with the cathedral ruins, the grave of Louis Riel and the winter Festival du Voyageur.
Big skies, open tundra and wildlife you will never forget.
One advisor to shape every day around you.
Experiences
Every journey begins with what matters most to you.
Tundra vehicle excursions near Churchill in October and November, when the bears gather along Hudson Bay.
Aurora viewing in Churchill and Riding Mountain National Park, best on clear, dark nights from late summer to spring.
Skating on the river trail at The Forks, the Festival du Voyageur and warm restaurants in the Exchange District.
The Canadian Museum for Human Rights, the Winnipeg Art Gallery and the Royal Winnipeg Ballet.

Timing

Melting rivers, migrating birds and quiet trails in the provincial parks.
Beluga whales in Churchill, warm lake days and canola fields in bloom.
Polar bear season on Hudson Bay, fall color and the first northern lights.
Skating in Winnipeg, the Festival du Voyageur and dark skies for aurora viewing.
Questions
Late October to mid-November is the main polar bear season, when the bears wait along Hudson Bay for the sea ice to form. Lodges and tours book up well ahead, so we plan early.
Thousands of beluga whales gather in the Churchill River estuary from July to August. We arrange boat and kayak tours to see them up close.
There are no roads to Churchill. Most travelers fly from Winnipeg, a flight of about two and a half hours, or take the train, which takes about two days.
Most polar bear and beluga trips include three to five days in Churchill, with a night in Winnipeg before and after.
Yes. U.S. citizens flying to Canada need a valid passport. Entry rules change, so we confirm the current requirements for your trip.
Yes. Churchill is one of the best places in the world for aurora viewing, especially from January to March, and the lights can also be seen in Riding Mountain National Park on clear nights.
