The regions
Machu Picchu entry tickets, trains and the best hotels in the Sacred Valley are limited and sell out early. We secure them, plan your route so you adjust gently to the altitude, and arrange private guides at every site.
The fifteenth-century Inca citadel above the Urubamba River, reached by scenic train or on foot along the Inca Trail.
The former Inca capital, with colonial churches built on Inca stone walls, lively markets and the fortress of Sacsayhuaman.
Inca terraces at Pisac and Moray, the salt pans of Maras and riverside lodges at a lower, gentler altitude.
Clifftop neighborhoods above the Pacific, a historic center and some of the most celebrated restaurants in South America.
The high lake shared with Bolivia, with the floating Uros islands and traditional communities on Taquile Island.
Ancient cities in the clouds and mountains painted in color.
One advisor to shape every day around you.
Experiences
Every journey begins with what matters most to you.
Day hikes to Rainbow Mountain and high lagoons, or the classic Inca Trail with expert guides and porters.
Weaving cooperatives, village markets and local festivals, arranged with respect for the communities.
Rainforest lodges and river cruises near Puerto Maldonado and Iquitos, with naturalist guides.
Cooking classes, market tours and tasting menus in Lima and Cusco, among the best food cities in the world.

Timing
May to September is the dry season in the Andes and the best time for Machu Picchu and the Sacred Valley. The Inca Trail closes each February for maintenance, and the rainy season brings green landscapes and fewer visitors.
The end of the dry season, with clear days and fewer crowds in the Andes.
The rainy season in the mountains, with lush landscapes and a quieter Machu Picchu.
The rains ease and the green valleys start their transition to the dry season.
The dry season in the Andes, with clear skies, cold nights and the busiest months.
Questions
May to September is the dry season and the most popular time. April and October are good shoulder months, and the Inca Trail is closed each February.
Machu Picchu entry tickets and Inca Trail permits are limited, so we recommend planning four to six months ahead, and longer for the Inca Trail in peak season.
Cusco sits at about 11,000 feet. We usually begin in the lower Sacred Valley so you can adjust gradually, and we suggest you talk with your doctor before you travel.
U.S. citizens can generally visit Peru as tourists without a visa for stays of up to 90 days. Entry rules change, so we confirm the current requirements for your trip.
Eight to ten days allows time for Lima, the Sacred Valley, Machu Picchu and Cusco. Add three or four days for Lake Titicaca or the Amazon.
Most travelers take a scenic train from Cusco or the Sacred Valley to Aguas Calientes, then a short bus ride up to the citadel. We reserve the trains, buses and timed entry tickets.
