The regions
New Zealand’s two main islands hold glaciers, fiords, wine regions and beaches within a few hours of each other. Your advisor helps you choose a route by road, rail, air or small ship, and the right lodges along the way.
Sheer cliffs, waterfalls and quiet fiords in Fiordland National Park, part of the Te Wahipounamu UNESCO World Heritage Area, best seen by boat or scenic flight.
A garden city on the Avon River, the TranzAlpine train across the Southern Alps and Aoraki Mount Cook, New Zealand’s highest peak.
Lakeside Queenstown, a base for jet boating, scenic flights and alpine walks, with Pinot Noir country in the valleys nearby.
Golden beaches in Abel Tasman National Park, the Marlborough Sounds and the vineyards that made New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc famous.
Art Deco Napier and Hawke’s Bay wineries, with Rotorua’s geothermal valleys, Lake Taupo and the Bay of Islands within reach.
Fiords, glaciers and long days in the open air.
One advisor to shape every day around you.
Experiences
Every journey begins with what matters most to you.
Welcomes, storytelling and traditional food in Rotorua and beyond, with Maori guides who share their history.
Cellar doors in Marlborough, Central Otago and Hawke’s Bay, with seafood and lamb from producers close by.
Whale watching in Kaikoura, swimming with dolphins, albatross on the Otago Peninsula and penguins along the coast.
The Hobbiton Movie Set near Matamata and the mountains and valleys that appear in famous films.

Timing
New Zealand’s seasons are the reverse of ours. December to February is summer, March to May brings autumn color and the grape harvest, and winter is ski season in the Southern Alps.
September to November brings lambs, blossoms and quieter roads, with snow still on the peaks.
Long, warm days from December to February, ideal for hiking, beaches and boating.
Golden vineyards and settled weather from March to May, one of the best times for touring.
June to August is ski season in Queenstown and Wanaka, with clear, crisp days in the fiords.
Questions
December to April offers the warmest weather for touring and hiking. March to May brings autumn color and the grape harvest, and June to August is ski season.
Two weeks allows time for highlights of both islands, such as Auckland, Rotorua, Queenstown and Milford Sound. Ten days suits a focused South Island trip. We plan domestic flights and drives so the days flow easily.
The South Island is known for fiords, glaciers and alpine scenery, and the North Island for Maori culture, geothermal areas, beaches and wine country. Many travelers combine the two.
Yes, by coach, self-drive or a scenic flight from Queenstown. An overnight cruise on the sound gives a quieter experience, and we arrange the option that fits your plans.
No. We can arrange private drivers, guided touring, scenic rail and domestic flights. If you prefer to drive, remember that New Zealand drives on the left.
U.S. citizens can generally visit without a visa but need a New Zealand Electronic Travel Authority (NZeTA) before departure. Entry rules change, so we confirm the current requirements for your trip.
