The island

Where should you go in Tenerife?

Tenerife has two characters: a green, traditional north and a sunny, resort-lined south, with Mount Teide in between. We choose where to stay, arrange the cable car and guides, and plan the drives, so you enjoy both sides of the island without the planning.

Mount Teide above the clouds in the Canary Islands

Mount Teide

Spain’s highest peak, at more than 12,000 feet, in a UNESCO-listed national park, with a cable car, hiking trails and world-class stargazing.

Colorful townhouses beneath Mount Teide in La Orotava

La Orotava and the North

Colonial mansions with carved wooden balconies, the Casa de los Balcones, botanical gardens and wine tasting in the Orotava Valley.

The Auditorio de Tenerife by the sea in Santa Cruz

Santa Cruz

The island’s capital and cruise port, with the Auditorio de Tenerife, lively markets and the Anaga mountains close by.

The cliffs of Los Gigantes above the Atlantic

Los Gigantes

Sheer cliffs dropping into the Atlantic on the west coast, with boat trips to see the whales and dolphins that live offshore.

The village of Masca among green mountains

Masca

A tiny village in the Teno Mountains, reached by a winding road, with a dramatic gorge that leads down to the sea.

Volcanic peaks, black sand and spring weather all year.

One advisor to shape every day around you.

Timing

When is the best time to visit Tenerife?

Tenerife is mild all year, which is why it is called the island of eternal spring. Winter is the most popular season for travelers escaping the cold, and the south is usually sunnier and warmer than the north.

Spring

Wildflowers on Mount Teide, green hillsides in the north and comfortable hiking weather.

Summer

Warm, sunny beach days, with cooler air in the mountains and the north.

Autumn

Warm sea temperatures, quieter beaches and the start of the Canary Islands cruise season.

Winter

Mild sunshine when home is cold, Carnival in Santa Cruz and snow on the summit of Teide.
